What We Believe
The Holy Scriptures, our Bible, is comprised of the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament. This Bible is the inspired and infallible word of God and its teachings provide the guidance we need to live our lives. The Bible also reveals that God exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God is sovereign over all things. This means he plans and executes everything according to his own will and nothing in heaven or on the earth can frustrate his plans and purposes.
We were created to live in fellowship with God, but we sinned and rebelled against God. As a result, we now live separated from God in a broken world that is under the rule of sin and of Satan. Our human hearts are naturally sinful and opposed to God.
Jesus Christ died on the cross as a sacrifice to pay the penalty for our sins. After three days, he rose from the dead. His death and resurrection have made a way for us to receive the gift of salvation and to once again enjoy a relationship with God. Salvation is a free gift we receive by faith alone through God’s grace. This is the gospel and this is good news.
Those who are called by the Holy Spirit will repent of their sins, accept the free offer of salvation, and be declared righteous in God’s sight. The Holy Spirit abides in Christ’s followers and empowers them to lead lives that are pleasing to God. The Spirit also gives them special gifts and fills them continually so that they can be used as ministers of Christ in the Church and in the world.
