Young Adult Circles
You know it. You are a complex being. You are an interesting mix of emotions, competencies, failures, successes, needs, desires, strengths, weaknesses, and the list could go on.
The people we serve are just the same as you and me. We believe that the days of packaging a one-size-fits-all solution to people's needs are over. And that is why we take the time to listen and to focus on youth so they can be trained, inspired, and motivated to develop personally and to impact others in their communities.
We live in a world today where technology allows us to customize the delivery of services and benefits to meet each individual's needs. So, it is time to design and test new models as we seek to impact our youth. These models must include include an environment where there is genuine love and concern for each individual.
We invest in small groups of youth through our Young Adult Circle initiative. We max the size of each group at about twelve, and we take the time to understand their goals, dreams, disappointments, successes, and failures, and help them to figure how they can move to the next level with our support. That is very likely the way you would want to be treated. Our long-term goal is to replicate these Circles in communities where we can identify community-based ledership support across Jamaica.
The focus is on developing faithfulness, discipline, and a willingness to work hard. We believe that our youth are talented and need practical help to meet their goals. We also believe that they must be accountable in terms of their own contribution to their personal development. An important aspect of the support we provide must move them in the direction of becoming income generating. However, we are also committed to their spiritual and physical development as they face the challenges of adult life.
We engage in six key areas. We promote the development of Jamaican youth by providing them with support for their overall development through academic training, life skills support, entrepreneurship, volunteerism, and opportunities for healthy social interactions, all within a faith-based context. It is time to expose and unleash the power and influence of disciplined and visionary youth in Jamaican communities. We need new role models for the future of our nation.
